I’ve had to dig deep to make our marriage a success

X FACTOR judge Ayda Field had to convince herself, “You can do this”, to overcome challenges in her marriage to singer Robbie Williams.
The 39-year-old has told how positive thinking helped her overcome her darkest moments.
Asked if she had to “dig deep”, Ayda said: “God, in every single area of my life.
“In my relationship with Rob, when things were not going well, [I thought] ‘You can do this, you can get over this’.
“Every corner of my life, there’s an ‘I can’t’ then an ‘I can’ moment.” The Loose Women panellist married Robbie, 44, in 2010, after four years together.
Daughter Theodora was born in 2012, son Charlton two years later. The couple recently announced the arrival of Colette, via a surrogate.
But Ayda previously told how Robbie, a fellow X Factor judge along with Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson, broke her heart by splitting up three times before they wed.
She has had to learn to cope with TV rejection and rivals’ success, too.
Of a US audition, Ayda said: “I tested against Kaley Cuoco for The Big Bang Theory. Not getting that hurts. And you read articles like, ‘highest-paid actress in television’.
“I’ve had jobs taken away. You have to audition the day after. You’ve got to do it, but I can’t be funny.
“Or when I’d broken up with Rob. You’re testing for this comedy, [but think] ‘I can’t do it’.”
Ayda is determined to prove herself on X Factor, whose live shows began on ITV last night. She said: “I’m an underdog. You just have to know you are capable of a lot more than you think.”
