Gallaghers pitched to play opposite ends of Glasto

- By Halina Watts SHOWBIZ EDITOR

CHILDREN and dogs paddle in the sea yesterday as temperatures hit 22C (72F) on what’s set to be the last warm weekend of the year.

The glorious sunshine at West Bay, Dorset, where TV’S Broadchurch drama was filmed, contrasts with the 13C nip in the air expected in late October.

So make the most of today because the mercury is set to drop tomorrow morning.

Below freezing temperatures in the small hours will bring frost across much of the country in a chilly start to the week. BROTHERS at war Noel and Liam Gallagher could play Glastonbury next year – at opposite ends of the festival.

Liam, 46, is already set to appear and Noel, 51, recently said he would “love” to perform at the Somerset mudfest in 2019. Now music bosses have hinted the former Oasis stars might appear at the same time but on different stages. A source said: “There was talk between bigwigs at the Q Awards in London that Glasto might put them on at the same time – which probably wouldn’t go down too well with fans, or with either of them.”

If they headline different stages, it might settle a battle to decide who is the bigger brother after Liam, 46, sold more records than Noel, 51, this year. Noel recently joked he would need “more than £5 million” to reform Oasis with Liam because of their feud. Earlier, Liam called Noel’s wife Sara a “witch” and compared the pair to serial killers Fred and Rose West. Oasis split in 2009 after constant rows. Last year, Noel slated Liam’s solo record saying it sounds “like Adele shouting into a bucket”.
