All I want to do is never wake up.. help me

“He had tried to take his life in the past and I knew it was just a matter of time before he would do so again.

“Dave was let down by so many people and organisations. He never received any help from the Army and the Ministry of Defence.

“He was a very challenging case but most people with mental health problems tend to be challenging.

“This is not the way to treat people who fought for this country.”

Dave joined the Army in 1991, served in Iraq, Northern Ireland and Kosovo with the Staffordshire Regiment and later became a private security contractor in Afghanistan.

He began showing signs of PTSD after a breakdown in 2006 and was medically discharged from the Army in 2011 – the year after he wed Jo.

The ex-corporal’s problems escalated in July after he lost his job as a security manager in London.

Jo and her two daughters, Kayleigh, 19, and Chloe, 23, became concerned as his mental health deteriorated.

She added: “He lost it one night and broke light fittings and smashed wedding photos. It was all because he couldn’t find his mp3 player.

“He held glass against my throat, he threatened to punch my daughter. It was terrifying. There was no emotion on his face. It wasn’t the Dave I knew. Dave was arrested THREE weeks before he died, Dave emailed the mental health team at the Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust: “I can’t see my family go through much more of this as I may lose them. This cannot happen as I will have nothing. “I think I need to be put away for a time before I lose it and do something I don’t mean to do. And it will give the ones I love a break before they totally give up on me. The reason is I’m finding it so hard to control my bad thoughts about suicide and hurting people. I’ve never had to fight myself this much before and it’s hurting me. All I want to do is never wake up and let them be happy. “I love my family but hate my life. I need help.” A spokesman for the trust said: “We are unable to comment on individual cases.”
