ALEX: I DIDN’T BAKE A FUSS Paul’s ex says she didn’t abuse barmaid lover

PAUL Hollywood’s ex-wife yesterday denied yelling abuse at his new love in a supermarke­t slanging match.

Alex Hollywood, 54, was said to have had a row at the checkout with 23- year- old barmaid Summer Monteys-fullam.

The pair had clashed after bumping into each other at their local Marks & Spencer – where onlookers say Alex called Summer “a whore” and “a slut”.

The row, which also involved Summer’s mother and sister, then spilled over into the car park.

But a spokesman for Alex insisted yesterday: “Alex has kept a dignified position throughout the last 14 months, which have been extremely challengin­g, and continues to do so.” Other shoppers at the store in Canterbury, Kent, had branded the alleged tirade “disgusting”.

But the spokesman added: “Alex was shocked to bump into Summer in her local supermarke­t, but even in that difficult situation she did not, and would not ever, , verbally y abuse anyone.”

Food writer Alex had forgiven Bake Off star Paul for his 2013 affair with Marcela ValVal - ladolid, his co-judge on the US version of t he show. ow.

I don’t want to be the victim here.” But she said despite the split she would not give up her surname.

She said: “It’s my son’s name and I don’t want a different name to my son. I’ve been Alex Hollywood for 20 years.”

Alex met Paul, 52, when she was a scuba diving instructor in Cyprus and he was head chef at a hotel.

He went on to build a successful media and cooking career and is worth an estimated £10million.

Alex told Weekend magazine: “It’s sad as there’s an awful lot more to marriage than two people hooking up because they like each other.

“Splitting up is awful, but I’m still here. Life’s not over yet.”
