1 Go left on to path and left at fork, ahead on road, then left to Macclesfield Road. 2 Over stile, towards NT car park and bear left. Through stile and continue on path. Straight towards Armada Beacon, take left path past it, go left at bottom.

3 Take steps, continue to Castle Rock, head towards road but after a few yards take sharp right. At bottom of steps, go left and follow path.

4 Take left fork and continue. Right over second exit to Woodbrook Road. At T-junction turn right. Go over crossroads with Mottram Road to another T-junction. Turn left, towards the A34 and Alderley Edge rail station. See nationaltrust.org.uk.
