Degale raps motor mouth doughnut’

-

JAMES DEGALE promised substance will overcome style as he revved up for his clash with Chris Eubank Junior in London on Saturday.

Eubank, 29, admitted last week that everything he does is for show. From the clothes he wears to the cars he drives and the way he fights, he wants to do ‘everything in style’.

But Degale, 33, hit back: “Eubank has no style, let’s be real. We came out of the face-to-face a few weeks ago when we announced the fight and we were parked next to each other. He walked past my car and went, ‘Upgrade, James’. I’ve got a Range Rover Vogue, it’s quality, a ‘big man’ car, it’s sophisticated, elegant, proper.

“This little doughnut is running past me saying that and I’m like, ‘But he’s got a little sports car’. He doesn’t have a clue.

“I’m driving one of the best cars in the world. It’s all about money for him.

“He’s just happy and gassed that he’s earning a couple of mill, but he’s had it off in his last couple of fights.”

Not that Degale (right) has never been about the money himself. He has always been honest that it’s a motivating factor and even relinquished the IBF World super-middleweight title he won back from Caleb Truax to set up the Eubank fight because he’d earn more money from it than a couple of defences of his belt.

But he added: “Money doesn’t bring happiness, it just makes life a bit easier.

“I could not earn another penny and I’d be happy, content.”
