KATIE Price and her daughter Princess need a hug after toughs in balaclavas roughed up the model in a mock burglary.

The reality star drafted in a security team to act out an attack at her home and test how her guard dog would react in a tense situation.

Katie, 41, took the extreme measures after her family were victims of a carjacking a year ago in South

Africa. The attackers are still at large.

Katie bought German shepherd dog Blade protection earlier this year.

A nervous-looking Katie along with Princess – her daughter with ex- husband Peter Andre – appeared to be in villains’ line of fire when Blade was put to the test this week.

One balaclava- clad man grabbed Katie from behind to test Blade’s reaction.

The ordeal was too much for Princess, who had to be consoled by her mum. Sources say Blade passed with flying colours and Katie was delighted.

Speaking after she got Blade, the former Loose Women host said: “I will feel safer and so will Princess as she still suffers from the hijack at gun point we had i n South Africa when filming last year.”

Thugs forced their way into Katie’s 4×4 when she and two of her children, Princess and Junior, 14, stopped at the side of the road. A minder min was hit in th the face and ca camera gear, la l aptops, and ca c a s h worth te tens of thousa sands of pounds we were stolen.

The mum of fiv five said the fa f amily were luc lucky to be alive.
