fel felt her talent was so much bigger than she was. It gave her an extraordinary life and extraordinary lows.”
Seeing her own two grandkids recognise Judy’s work is poignant for Lorna. She said: “My granddaughter, who is four, calls her Triple G. I’m GG. We were in the car and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas came on and my grandson said ‘That’s Triple G.’ I looked at my daughter and went, wow.”
Lorna, who lives in n Palm Springs, California, was not put off a career in showbusiness by her mum’s death.
She has starred in Broadway shows and films including Grease 2.
Lorna, who has grown-up children from her first marriage, has faced her own demons. She had a three-year fight against breast cancer, including a double mastectomy and chemotherapy before she was told she was in remission last year. As the world prepares to fall in love with Judy Garland all over again with w the upcoming biopic, Lorna vowed to “keep her memory intact”. And Lorna loves it when fans reckon she looks like her mum.
She s aid: “I’m honoured. People want to see their memory of my mom and it’s a responsibility that I take really s eriously”. Lorna will perform at London’s Brasserie Zedel from September 30 to October 4.
