DARK WEB IS A

- By Helen Whitehouse

HE is a nerdy-looking British teenager who was supposed to be studying for his A-levels.

But in his bedroom, 19-year-old Kyle Davies was planning a massacre to rival anything in America.

And his source was the dark web – a part of the internet used by criminals.

With just a few clicks on his computer the student ordered a gun and bullets to be delivered to his suburban home.

As Davies awaits sentence, a Sunday People investigation today reveals just how easy it is to get illegal firearms, drugs and even the services of hitman on the dark web in as little as TEN minutes.

With the help of former cop Mark Williams-thomas – who unmasked paedophile Jimmy Savile – we were able to find criminals openly advertising weapons, porn and stolen financial details. Within five minutes we found adverts for illegal goods including a page for a UK web store which advertised a new and unused Glock pistol for £500 along with bullets for £50.

It is the same type of semi- automatic pistol bought by Kyle Davies as he surfed the net while his unsuspecting parents Gareth and Sarah thought he was studying.

Davies, of Wotton, Gloucester, was as last month found guilty of plotting a massacre after police discovered d handwritten notes and a USB memory ry stick –used for storage – containing ng more than 1,000 pages relating to o explosives and killing sprees.

Our investigators also found a weapon shop called The Armory, y, selling assault rifles including a FNH H scar for £2,608 and a SIX8 for £2,000. 0.

European passports were being flogged for £3,000 and hitmen who boasted of being “ex- military y operatives” offered to kill anyone e for a fee. They also promised cutprice services such as arson attacks for those whose budgets didn’t stretch to murder.

Even more shockingly, we came across an advertisement for a snuff child porn movie which features abuse of three young girls filmed by Australian pervert Peter Scully.

Scully was last year jailed for life in the Philippines after filming himself lf torturing and raping children and forcing them to dig their graves.

Mark Williams-thomas said: “It’s shocking what’s out there. Nothing is regulated and anything and everything gets posted and discussed – from child abuse to murder victims.”

He recalled he had even seen
