EILEEN Grimshaw’s luck with blokes continues, as she yells for help while her lover lies dying on the Corrie cobbles after being gunned down.

This week, the taxi switchboar­d operator will learn the truth about EASTENDERS star Lucy Benjamin loves that t her character Lisa gunned unned down Phil Mitchell.

And the whodunnit that followed was so popular that she is still quizzed about it. t.

Some fans want her to return and finish the job.

18 years after she pulled the trigger. Lucy, who o played Lisa for five years rs from 1998 and made brief ef returns in 2010 and 2017, will cause more trouble for Phil, hil, played by Steve Mcfadden, n, 60. her Polish ex-boyfriend Jan Lozinski in emotional scenes.

Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver, got her wires crossed thinking Jan was a people smuggler when he is actually a police informer helping to smash a people traffickin­g ring.

He returns this week to explain all She said: ““There’s more of what you’d hope to come come.

She was also reunited with Lisa’s best mate Mel Owen, played by Tamzin Outhwaite, 48.

Lucy said: “When I came back two years ago it was only for a few weeks. It was an isolated story as Louise was in hospital, so I didn’t see many of the cast. When I came across the road and, wanting to keep him silent, she pulls the trigger.

But perhaps he will survive and the couple will rekindle their love and live happily ever after?

Given this is Corrie and her last boyfriend, Pat Phelan, was a serial killer, we suspect not. back in June, seeing familiar faces, and with both Patsy and Tamzin back, it was just a joy. It was like coming home.”

Viewers will be able to see Lucy’s return during an explosive week of episodes surroundin­g Whitney Dean and Callum Highway’s wedding, Hunter Owen’s escape from prison, and the disappeara­nce of Lisa and Phil’s pregnant daughter Louise and her boyfriend Keanu Taylor.

Lucy said: “Lisa is a joy to play because she is so layered. And what a week for her to return.

“It’s all going on – drama follows her around and I wouldn’t have it any other way. When I saw the scripts I remember saying ‘flippin’ heck this is just crazy.’”

She returns in the special episodes from September 2.
