Raul aim another big haul

- By James Nursey by

RAUL JIMENEZ says his blossoming love affair with Wolves is bringing out his best form after vowing to prove he is not a oneseason wonder.

Jimenez notched his fifth goal in the Europa League at Torino in midweek – and has

Burnley in his sights today as he seeks to open his Premier League account.

The 28-year-old Mexican has continued his red-hot form from last season when he notched 17 times in all competitions.

It helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s men finish seventh and reach the FA Cup semifinals as Wolves converted his loan from Benfica into a club-record £33million permanent deal.

Hearts

That is already looking a shrewd investment as the forward has since also scored five times to help Mexico win the Gold Cup in July where he was player of the tournament.

Molineux’s successstarved faithful have taken him to their hearts – and the feeling is mutual.

Jimenez explained: “I’m committed to Wolverhampton.

“I want to keep showing I’m worth the trust of the manager and the fans.

“I want to keep playing the way I’ve been doing last season, keep scoring and producing assists.

“I want to help the team in everything I can and I want to keep improving.

“You can only make it with hard work, focus and perseverance.

“Playing in Europe is not easy, and we compete in the very best league in the world.

“It is very important to have our fans with us.

“I’m very grateful for this and proud that my hard work and my commitment for the club has made the fans happy.

“Game after game, I want to always give my best.”
