Rashford penalty miss & De Gea howler hand Hodgson’s

THE last time Crystal Palace won in these parts in the league was when the locals wanted rid of an unknighted Alex Ferguson.

‘ Ta-ra Fergie’ was the infamous banner unfurled in the Stretford End as United struggled under the Scot in his formative years.

The last time Marcus Rashford ( left) missed a penalty was probably back in his schooldays.

And sadly in these unforgivin­g days, the racist tweeters were at it again with the young England striker the target in the same week that Paul Pogba was a ■ Manchester United have won only one of their last nine matches across all competitio­ns (D3 L5), scoring victim of the cowardly keyboard warriors. Said United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “It needs to stop. I am lost for words.

But for Palace and their former England boss Roy Hodgson it was an unexpected lift- off to their season – and how they celebrated especially with the winning goal from Patrick van Aanholt arriving in ‘Fergie time’.
