SEQUINS STARDUST... IT’S BACK Corrie Cath: Mum’s gone Strictly crazy

SHE BUYS GLITTER BALLS

CATHERINE Tyldesley’s family are backing the actress for dance glory – by turning their homes into mini Strictly sets.

Glitter balls are hung up, relatives are togged out in sequin pyjamas and Cath’s son Alfie, four, even has a matching bow tie.

The former Coronation Street star revealed: “My mum has bought everyone sequin glitter balls.

“We’ve all got matching Strictly pyjamas as well. They’re like gold crepe trousers from Tesco then white T-shirts with ‘Strictly’ written on them.

“My sister, my grandma, my motherin-law. We’ve all got them. If I get voted off in week two they’ll be fuming!”

Catherine, who is married to fitness trainer Tom Pitfield, said Alfie is too young to attend the live show but would be watching with his grandparents.

She added: “He’s got a little sequin dickie bow. We’re trying to get one for the sausage dog Jeff as well.”

Catherine, 36, made her Strictly debut last night with pro dancer Johannes Radebe – and scored 20 out of 40 for their Viennese Waltz.

It’s all a far cry from her days as Rovers barmaid Eva Price.

Cath said: “I’ve got no dance experience. I know some of the others have.

Faster

“Others maybe pick up the routines quicker than I do. It takes me a bit longer. If I stay in the competition I’m hoping that will get faster.”

On the revealing outfits and heavy make-up, Catherine added: “I absolutely love it. I think I was a drag queen in a previous life.

“I’m like, ‘Smack me up, put more on me’. I’m a bit nervous about shorter skirts because I don’t tend to wear stuff like that.

“But they’ve got loads of secret bits and pieces like built-in bras and spanx. It’s amazing what they can do – it’s like scaffolding under there!

“That gives you confidence so you’re not jiggling around as much.”
