Kane: Van Dijk and Liverpool are NOT bombproof. They can be beaten and we want revenge
v
about playing my game and making my movements, doing my runs and trying to get on the scoresheet, trying to get assists.
“At the end of the day, it’s a team game, so we all have to be on it with each other – that’s the main aim.”
Spurs, who never really got going in the European showdown with Liverpool in June, have stuttered and spluttered their way through the first three months of this season.
But Kane hopes the growing rivalry with the Reds will inspire Spurs to recapture their old form.
Kane added: “We’ve had a little bit of a rivalry over the last couple of years because we’ve been competing at the top of the Premier League and the Champions League, and that’s what happens when you get two good teams at a high level.
“They came out on top in May, or June, whenever... I’ve tried to forget it! That is in the past past, we have to concentrate on us now and we have a lot to do to turn our Premier League season around.”
Kane is hoping Tuesday’s 5-0 trouncing of Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League can be a platform to help them do that.
He added: “In terms of momentum, that will give us a huge lift.
Explosive
“Tuesday’s game was great but we were expected to win at home.
“Probably not many people will expect us to win at Anfield so if we can do that, it will hopefully give our Premier League season a big boost.”
The game has the potential to be explosive with two of the most entertaining attacking units in Europe on show. But that was expected in Madrid, too, yet the Champions League final was a huge let-down.
