LEW BEAUTY Brilliant Pole is a record-breaker as Bayern go top
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI ripped up the record books as Bayern Munich moved to the top of the Bundesliga.
The Pole became the first player in the German topflight to score in his club’s first nine matches of the season.
Lewandowski scored his 19th goal of the season early in the second half to break the record against Union Berlin.
Benjamin Pavard (right) had volleyed in to put the hosts ahead in the 13th minute.
Lewandowski has scored in every competitive game in the league, Champions League and German Cup this season.

His only blank came in the 2-0 defeat by Dortmund in the German Super Cup back on August 3.
He even scored a hat-trick for Poland in a Euro 2020 qualifier against
Latvia earlier this month.
Lewandowski – who surpassed the record set by current Arsenal f orward Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang in 2015 – doubled the advantage with a cool finish.
Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer was beaten by Sebastian Polter in a late consolation. The Bavarians are top on 18 points, one ahead of Freiburg, who beat RB Leipzig 2-1.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg can return to the top two places if they win their games today.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund went third after a goalless draw with Schalke.
Schalke twice hit the frame of the goal through Salif Sane and Suat Serdar in what was a dominant first half.
And they should have scored in the second half but for Wales ace Rabbi Matondo blowing his big chance.
Dortmund’s England winger Jadon Sancho also went close.
