TWO TIMID! Lions lose again but push Kiwis all the way

-

IT was disappointing and frustrating to go down to a second successive defeat on this Great Britain tour.

But this l oss to New Zealand felt very different to last week against Tonga when we didn’t create enough opportunities.

This week we created plenty of chances but we just weren’t improve and be okay. We Wewant want to get wins and that is what we are here for and we will go again next week against New Zealand and put everything into getting that first win.

The first half of this opening clash with the Kiwis finished 2-2 at half-time and it wasn’t the best footy.

Wayne said he needed me to get my hands on the ball more in the second half and I t hink t hat was evident.

You could see what me and Gaz

Widdop can do together when we get the ball where we want it to be.

It was quite clear in the second half that I sort of, not exactly threw the playbook out of the window, but I did play how I normally play.

I like to get my hands on the ball, go to the line and have runners inside and out.

I was really stoked with my second half. Obviously I would have liked to get my hands on the ball more in the first half, and me and Gaz tried, but it didn’t go to plan.

But the second half was great. Every opportunity I get I try to take the line on and I did that in the second half.

That was partly because we had a bit more footy as a team and I was able to capitalise.

It’s my natural game, but it’s sometimes hard when you are in a new system, trying to fit in with a new team.

So, overall there are positive signs and we were better than last week. But I’d trade it

for a win.
