Flores: I am not worried

- By IAN BAKER at V Vicarage Road

QUIQUE QUI FLORES is not concerned con about his future, despite des his Watford side returning retu to the bottom of the Premier League after this thumping.

The T Spaniard is just over two months into his second spell spe at Vicarage Road and knows kno what it is like to be axed by the Pozzo family.

And A a second spell record reco that reads just one win, four draws and four defeats defe means he is already in danger d of more ruthless action acti by the sack-happy Watford Wat owners.

The T Hornets, who had won for the first time since Flores’ Flor return at Norwich last time out, were blown away awa in the second half.

Chris C Wood, Ashley Barnes Bar and James Tarkowski were all on target for Burnley, who won on the road for the first time this season.

Flores already appears to be running out of ideas. He said: “I’m not worried about anything in my life, OK?

“We just need time, we need belief, we need fight, all these kind of things.

“We can do it together. “But it doesn’t depend on me, it’s not my control.

“After winning at Norwich, we did not think everything was resolved. But, after defeat, we don’t think everything is lost.

“Football is very unpredictable, it is impossible to say how everything is.

“I don’t have any doubt in my players or the squad, I believe in them 100 per cent they can change the situation. But I know it is very difficult.”

Watford had chances in the first half, with Nick Pope, fresh from England duty, excellent in the Burnley goal as he saved twice from Gerard Deulofeu.

And it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on 53 minutes as Tarkowski’s header hit Jose Holebas and Wood reacted quickest to hook home.

Flores called for captain Troy Deeney for the first time since injuring his knee in August. But Deeney was well off the pace.

Watford’s confidence was dented by this stage and Burnley ran riot, with sub Jay Rodriguez lobbing against the bar after a mix-up between Adrian Mariappa and keeper Ben

Foster. And it was the Clarets who wrapped this game up as VAR intervened while the hosts were preparing to take a corner.

Play was pulled back for a foul by Holebas on Barnes in the area, with the latter scoring from the 82nd-minute spot-kick with Foster pushing his penalty on to the post and it agonisingly crossing the line.

A third for Burnley arrived two minutes from time as Tarkowski scored at the second attempt after

Watford switched off from a Dwight Mcneil free-kick.

Burnley are now sixth and boss Sean Dyche said: “It would be nice if they blew the final whistle for the season now! This should be enjoyed, but there is work to be done.”
