Andrew crisis talks before new TV blow
CHARLES: ‘BE COMPLETELY HONEST WITH ME’
PRINCE Charles is set to meet his scandal-hit brother for a crisis summit before Prince Andrew’s sex accuser makes more damaging claims on TV.
An hour-long special edition of Panorama featuring Virginia Roberts, now Giuffre, airs on BBC 1 at 9pm tomorrow.
She claimed she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew in 2001 when she was 17.
The Duke of York, 59, who categorically denies her claims, was forced to “step back” from frontline royal duties after giving a Newsnight interview about his relationship with billionaire paeodophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Charles, who has been guiding the Queen over the crisis, wants an “open and honest” discussion with Andrew at Sandringham country estate.
Charles is staying at the Norfolk property where he sounded out his close friend
Sir Nicholas Soames, ex MP and grandson of Sir Winston Churchill.
In a teaser for Panorama, Ms Giuffre says: “It was a really scary time of my life.”
And speaking of Andrew, she says: “He knows what happened. I know what happened and there’s only one of us telling the truth.” A source told the Sunday People: “Charles wants to meet Andrew to discuss how best to deal with the ‘Epstein issue’.
“He has told his brother to be completely up front, open and honest with him about his relationship with Epstein and this woman. He knows how damaging this issue is for the family and knows it has the potential to get much worse.”
Prince Philip is said to be “furious” that Andrew was encouraged to do the interview by his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
It is understood Andrew will “lie low” at their £3million ski chalet in Verbier, Switzerland, next year.
He is also facing calls for the Government’s Public Accounts Committee to look into his personal fortune and possibly take back his 30-room royal lodge mansion at Windsor.
Last night Clarence House declined to comment.
