PRISON GUARD IS SLASHED BY GANG
4 hurt in teen ‘revenge’ attack
A FEMALE prison officer was slashed across her ear during a vicious ambush by up to 15 teen inmates at a troubled youth jail.
The victim, in her 30s, was attacked in a pre-planned “revenge” attack at Feltham Young Offender Institute.
A youth armed with a home-made shank dragged the weapon across the custodial manager’s ear.
Another three guards at the gangplagued West London jail for male juveniles were hurt, including a second female officer who was punched in the face.
The attackers were aged between 15 and 18. A source said: “This was a horrific attack. It was pre-planned and revenge for a number of cell searches on the wing that uncovered weapons and mobile phones. The leader of the attack had been caught with a mobile the day before – and he planned the ambush.”
Razors
The assault on Friday morning came after a series of cell searches on Eagle Unit recovered a cache of illegal items.
They included DIY weapons such as razors melted into toothbrushes and sharpened hard plastic tops.
Initially, two male guards were ambushed, while colleagues who went to their rescue were also beaten.
Officers were briefly forced to retreat
LIZ Hurley poses in a ninja warrior outfit and throws the social media world into quite a frenzy.
The Austin Powers star posted Instagram snaps of herself and pals in martial arts garb at a festive bash. A pal gave her a mighty hug and another partygoer wielded a sword.
It all prompted one of her internet followers to call 54-year-old Liz “the sexiest woman alive”. Well she is... to her ninja army of fans, at least. from the wing before regaining control. Five ambulances were called to the prison, where safety levels were recently classed as “appalling”.
At least four guards were taken to hospital.
A Prison Service spokesperson said the female officer needed “one or two” stitches to her ear and said the incident was brought under control within 25 minutes. The spokesperson said: “An incident at Feltham was quickly resolved by our brave and diligent prison officers. We will never tolerate violence against our staff and will punish those involved.”
Feltham can hold more than 700 offenders but its overall population was capped at 100 after a damning report put the youth jail into “special measures”.
New placements are carefully monitored to ensure stability. And from May until the end of August, there was a sustained reduction in levels of assaults on staff, selfharm and use of force.
