A GIRL with an exceptionally rare genetic disease has died of “old age” at eight.

Anna Sakidon suffered Hutchinson-gilford progeria syndrome, which affects only 160 people in the world – and her biological age was nearer to 80.

Medics paid tribute to the “wonderful” girl from Ukraine, who reached her eighth birthday last month and weighed only 17lb.

Dr Nadezhda Kataman said Anna was treated at Volyn Regional Children’s Medical Complex, in Lutsk, since childhood.

She added: “For children with progeria, one year is equal to eight to 10.

“The child suffered from early ageing of her inner organs and body system.

“Such patients usually die from strokes. Anna suffered several strokes and paralysis of her limbs.”

Tragic Anna died of multiple organ failure.

A WOMAN aged 23 is “gobsmacked” at winning a £545,000 country cottage with a £2 raffle ticket.

Admin assistant Jemma Nicklin was saving for a deposit on her first home when she entered the draw.

Now she owns four-bed Shrubbery Farmhouse, in Longnor, Shropshire, which has exposed beams in all rooms and an Aga cooker.

Owners Michael and Linda Chatha raffled it after failing to find a buyer.

They made £680,000 and will pay Jemma’s stamp duty and fees with the excess – and donate the remainder to charity.

Michael said: “When I told her she had won, she was gobsmacked.”

Jemma, who lives with her mum and dad in Bilston, West Midlands, said: “I am over the moon.”

THE channel that gave us reality TV show Wife Swap is now giving us the real thing – by letting us ogle revellers in a swinging club.

Channel 4, also behind Gogglebox, is sending a crew to the kinky Liberty Elite to shoot a documentary giving an “honest portrayal” of the secretive sex scene.

The venue, where punters can stay over for £60 a night, bills itself as the UK’S most “upmarket” and has a dungeon, an in-house mistress and a barbecue area.

C4 researchers have put ads on wife swapping websites to find exhibitionists willing to be interviewed and recorded at the spot in Leicestershire, beside the A5.

A post read: “We are looking for people to take part in a documentary taking a look behind the closed doors of the swinging scene. It will be an honest portrayal that seeks to inform the public.”

But some regulars are not happy and one posted: “We are planning to hide our profile for a few weeks after the documentary airs, in case it raises a bit too much interest about the lifestyle.” Liberty

THIS is the terrifying moment that Coronation Street’s David Platt’s life hangs in the balance.

The Corrie favourite, played by Jack P Shepherd, 32, is ambushed by a gang of knife-wielding yobs.

But viewers will have a tantalising wait to see if the dad-of-two manages to escape unscathed.

David has had a tough time after the Christmas Day shooting of wife Shona, played by Julia Goulding.

Risky

A source said: “David has really been struggling since Shona was shot and lost her memory. It leads to him putting himself in a risky situation.” Shona regained consciousness after David sat at her bedside playing recordings of their children Max and Lily. But he was devastated when she did not recognise him.

Later, the consultant warned David that Shona has severe memory issues and it could take her up to a year to improve.

Last year, David was caught up in a prison riot that ended with his rapist Josh Tucker, played by Ryan Clayton, stabbed and fighting for his life.

In 2016, then wife Kylie, played by Paula Lane, was murdered by Clayton Hibbs, Callum Harrison, trying to protect her friend.

Elite’s site says it was set up in 1999 “as THE Upmarket Private Members Club for those pursuing a liberated lifestyle on the Swingers and Fetish scenes”. It adds: “We maintain the highest standards and strive to provide outstanding service, whilst jealously guarding our reputation for being spotlessly clean.”

The show follows a colourful tradition of X-rated programming by C4 – dating back to the infamous Red Triangle content of the 1980s. The 2013 show Dogging Tales examined the fetish for strangers romping in car parks and lay-bys.

And in 2017, A Very British Brothel looked at life in a Sheffield parlour.
