TV Aggie: My sizzling romp with hot date

Star set Airbnb pad’s bed alight

CLEAN queen Aggie Mackenzie has revealed she once had such a hot date the bed caught fire.

The TV star booked an Airbnb pad for a romp with a married romeo she met online.

She said the fella, called Tom, had been given permission “to roam” by his disabled wife.

And their night of passion was heating up nicely – until a candle set a pillow alight.

Aggie, 64, said: “Everything was romping along very well, the temperature building nicely.

“All of a sudden, fire alarm bells went off, the loudest I have ever heard. I jumped up. One of the pillows had shifted over, made contact with the lit candle and was now on fire. Actual flames.

“Seems the pillows weren’t such high quality after all, because the melting man-made content was dripping all over the bottom sheet, the bedside cabinet and floor. The next couple of hours were spent solemnly on Operation Clear-up.”

Aggie – who found fame on Channel 4’s How Clean Is Your House? with Kim Woodburn – said the Airbnb owner was not phased by the damage.

She said: “I had to explain what had happened. She was very gracious, insisting £20 would cover it. It was hardly the kind of pillow talk I’d envisaged but at least no lasting damage was done.”

Revealing the fiery tryst in her column for Saga magazine, she added: “Igniting the flames of passion would have to wait.” Aggie was married to Matthew Goulcher, father to her two sons Rory, 27, and Ewan, 23, for 20 years.

They split in 2000 and she claimed he had cheated – but excused men having affairs. She said: “I get annoyed with women who slate men who have affairs. It takes two to tango – it’s not always just down to the man.”
