Mac: Busy? Big deal

-

CALLUM MCGREGOR is not fretting over the congested fixture list that sees Celtic bounce from European ties to tough domestic games.

The Hoops face Kilmarnock today at Parkhead after returning from a testing 1-1 draw in Denmark on Thursday night.

Killie will be Celtic’s 49th fixture of a gruelling season which started in July.

But the pressure of securing their ninth title on the spin means that Neil Lennon will have to ask his players to go back to the well once again. Midfielder

Mcgregor (below) said:

“The games seem to be coming round all the time but that’s what you want when you are playing well and are in a good run of form.

“You just want the next one to keep coming and obviously again, it will be a tough game.

“Killie are always organised when they come to Celtic Park and hard to break down so the onus is on us to do that and get the three points.” Secondplaced Rangers, who trail Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic by 10 points, face St Johnstone on the back of their memorable 3-2 comeback win over Braga.

Gers No.2 Gary Mcallister believes that Steven Gerrard’s men can use that dramatic European triumph as a catalyst for success in the run-in at domestic level.

He said: “It’s about players and recreating the same sort of level and speed and finding a way.

“The bounce from Thursday night, we have not had European games since the winter break, should allow us to gather some momentum after that result.”

Mcallister insists there will be no hangover, adding: “The boys will rest and recover and it is a quick turnover.

“We know that going to St Johnstone is never easy.”
