Teen victim of rapist Mccann: I’ve been failed

OAPS held over death Stay crisp’n dry

TWO pensioners have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead.

The men, aged 72 and 73, were taken into custody after police discovered the victim, in her 40s.

Her body was found at a house on the outskirts of Bolton, Gtr Manchester, at around 10pm on Friday.

Det Supt Howard Millington said: “We are keeping an open mind about the circumstances of the woman’s death. If anyone has any information, please get in touch.”

USED crisp packs are being made into bivvy bags to keep rough sleepers dry in a project led by Pen Huston, 45, of Middlesbrough.

A TEENAGER raped by serial sex attacker Joseph Mccann has told how she feels like she’s been “failed in every single way”.

The 17-year-old and her younger brother were both attacked after Mccann tied their mother up in their own home last May.

The girl said she now lives in constant fear and is “confused” as to why the 35-year-old had not been recalled to jail. She spoke out after a report said probation staff were warned eight years earlier that Mccann was a danger.

The report disclosed that in 2011, when Mccann was in prison for burglary, police shared information suggesting he might pose “a risk of sexual harm to teenage girls”.

In January 2019 he was released from jail and went on a two-week rampage, targeting 11 women and children across the country. In

Speaking to fans, David also told how the best thing that happened to him was losing the role of Corporal Jones in Dad’s Army in 1967.

At a convention in Bedford run by the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society, he explained: “I was offered a part in Dad’s Army. I went to the BBC and read for the director.”

But Clive Dunn, who originally turned down the part, decided he wanted it.

“So at 3pm I got a call from my agent,” David revealed. “He said, ‘You know you have this part in Dad’s Army? Well you haven’t now.’ Life can change in one conversation.

“Also, I’d have been trapped in Dad’s Army so Only Fools, Darling Buds of May, Open All Hours… none of that would’ve happened. Because I lost that job, in a back-handed way, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”

There is one thing he wouldn’t say no to, though – the chance to work with Steven Spielberg.

“I would have liked Spielberg to have directed me,” he said. “I loved his first movie, Duel, and followed his work.

“Steven, I am available.”

December he was given 33 life sentences after being convicted of 37 offences.

Following the attack, the teen said she had “lost everything”, including the family home in Lancashire which Mccann tricked his way into.

She said: “It causes anger and so much upset for everyone that the probation service failed to keep us safe. He has previous for sexual abuse and nothing was acted on. Before this, I had a lovely home, a close family and a really good job.

“After it I lost everything, including my home and my relationship with my family.

“I struggle to sleep each night and live in fear. I have days when I do not want to do anything.”

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a review of the National Probation Service’s management of Mccann.
