Bellew admits he’s missing fight game COUNT OUT COMEBACK

Tony dreams of return but wife won’t let him Joshua-tyson clash ‘a must for TV’

TONY BELLEW has revealed his wife has banned him from making a return to boxing.

The former WBC cruiserwei­ght champion, 37, wanted to get back in the ring after filming TV series SAS: Who Dares Wins last year.

But when he told loved ones about his plan, beloved Rachael Roberts KO’D the idea.

Bellew said: “When I finished filming SAS: Who Dares Wins I decided I was going to start fighting again.

“I thought, ‘If I can get through that show, I can get through anything’. So I was going to go back to boxing.

“But when I came home I spoke to my wife about it. But that conversati­on wasn’t very long.

“It was a case of her saying, ‘But you promised me you wouldn’t…’ and that was it.

“I wanted to go back to fighting to show people what I can do. But once that feeling passed and I had a bit of downtime, I realised I do have to stop. I saw sense.”

And the promoter is also confident of giving the British public what they want with a glittering 11-year career in the ring that saw him become a sporting hero to millions of fans.

Since then he has struggled to cope with life away from sport.

Bellew said: “I just want to fight the world some days.

“I miss having a fight. I would love to still be fighting for world titles and be fighting in front of thousands of people in stadiums and millions on TV.

“But you have to take it on the chin.” Bellew has battled anger issues since retiring and last week he admitted: huge arena heavyweigh­t showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

“I feel like I can be a horrible **** sometimes. I just feel like I could do some horrible things.

“I feel like I could explode at any moment. I can’t explain it without sounding like a **** ing maniac.

“Since I retired I’ve lost focus. I need something new and I’m trying to find it, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

“I’m 37 and I’ve got no job. It can be tough sometimes. I miss having a fight. I miss punching people in the face, if I’m totally honest. And I miss the buzz of walking into the ring.”
