Becks lined up f or Celebrity Bake Off

DAVID Beckham could be showing off his golden buns on Celebrity Bake Off.

The ex-england and Manchester United ace spent much of lockdown doing what he loves best these days – baking.

Channel 4 bosses saw what he was whipping up at home and got in touch.

Now Becks, 45, who was first nicknamed Goldenball­s by wife Posh, is mulling over an offer to take part in the a celebrity version of the hit show in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

A TV source said: “Signing David Beckham really would be the icing on the cake. Everyone working o on the show is very excited ab about the prospect of him takin taking part.

“He was the name that a lot of the cas casting team had on their list at the very first meeting b because of his love of cooking cooking, especially baking during loc lockdown.”

As Dav David self-isolated with Victori Victoria, 46, and sons Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and daughte daughter Harper, nine, at their mansion in the Cotswolds, he brushed up on his culinary skills and even recreated some of his mum’s old recipes.

Becks took Italian cookery classes in 2010 while on loan to AC Milan and during a spell at Paris Saint-germain in 2013, he signed up for lessons in French cuisine.

Inspired

He has also been inspired in the kitchen by best mate Gordon Ramsay, 53.

The all-star version of the baking competitio­n will be filmed in the coming weeks. It will air early next year.

Filming has just wrapped on the 11th series, fronted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas. Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood are back as judges.
