TOP Scot the lot!

PETER Crouch has revealed how football liaison officers “do anything” for pampered players – even dumping “too-clingy” girlfriends on their behalf.

Speaking on his podcast, the former Liverpool and England striker said the list of requests included loads of “stupid things” that “only a footballer” would ask for.

These included how to handle a goldfish “swimming the wrong way round” and getting someone to open their post for them.

One player even sat in the freezing cold for two months after his heating broke down – until his liaison officer got involved.

Crouch, 40, who has four kids with model wife Abbey Clancy, said stars with a problem go to an officer and say: “What the hell’s this? Can you deal with it?”

He added: “They organise anything from team dos to Christmas parties.”

LIVERPOOL footie legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has launched a fund to help needy babies in the city to mark his 70th birthday.

The 7Appeal – named after the No7 shirt he wore – will help families who urgently need nappies, baby food, cots and bedding.

Kop idol Kenny, who turned 70 on Thursday, said: “The most important celebration would have been to see the grandkids, but obviously we cannot.

“So the girls [his wife Marina and daughter Lauren] thought it would be good to do something for the babies – they seem to be a little bit forgotten at this moment. Everybody loves a baby.”

The Dalglish fundraiser is being run in conjunction with Liverpool FC’S charity arm, Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool Women’s Hospital and St Andrew’s Pantry food bank.

GOING to bed in the nude is the best way to get a good night’s kip, says research.

And men get slightly more deep sleep than women by going naked.

Rapid eye movement sleep cycles should average 20-25% of our shut-eye but blokes averaged 27%, while women had 26%.

Research by sleep experts at Thedozyowl.co.uk also found that slumbering in socks was more beneficial than without.

But dozing in a T-shirt and trousers got the least REM sleep at just 17.5%.

A PLANNED live-action movie of TV cartoon favourite Captain Pugwash has hit the rocks.

Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost, who was lined up to play the pirate in 2017, said the film will never get made.

The actor believed funding was coming from the Far East – but no one in Asia knows the character.

Frost told a podcast: “I was excited as anyone there was a chance for a Pugwash film. It’s never going to be made. Which is a shame – it did look really beautiful.”

Captain Pugwash was created by John Ryan and featured in comic strips and books. His adventures on the Black Pig with cabin boy Tom and pirates Willy, Barnabas and Master Mate were adapted into a TV series in the 70s.
