Changing Rooms made a flamboyant comeback to C4 on Wednesday, 17 years since it last aired – it felt like it had never been away.

The hilarious show sees neighbours transform a drab room for each other but, in

reality, they are actually all at

the mercy of designers. Amused presenter Anna Richardson provides a shoulder to cry on when everything inevitably gets out of hand.

Florist Claire gingerly hopped on to the swing, doing her best to appear positive, while her mate Lisa looked horrified at the hairy new blind in her bedroom that looked like someone had pinned a Muppet to the wall.

A show that could just as easily see tears of joy or disgust, I’m delighted it’s not changed one bit.
