A PERVERT infiltrated a game played by two million British children to send vile messages
to a girl of eight.
Gemma Clamp was horrified when daughter Annabel downloaded the Roblox game Run With Amy and the sicko’s words appeared.
Shocked Gemma, 38, said: “The first sentence said, ‘Hey, s3xy wanna have some fun?’ It made me feel sick. I clicked further to see what would happen and the language got more extreme.”
“There’s someone sick getting a thrill from kids reading something like that.”
Gemma, of Nuneaton, Warks, warned others to be on their guard as Roblox, which features different games in a virtual world, is very popular. She reported the incident to Roblox but said the California-based firm took a week to say it would look into it. Gemma is only allowing Annabel to use certain games she knows are OK.
Gaming expert and dad-of-three Andy Robertson said: “It’s important for parents to set up accounts for children.
“When they do, they can turn off chats in game until they are older. This is done via the Roblox account page.”
Roblox is developing a system to better match users with age-appropriate content.
A spokesman said: “Roblox has no tolerance for sexual content which violates our Community Rules. We suspended the experience in question and any associated experiences, so they cannot be accessed.
“It is our responsibility to keep our platform safe, and we work relentlessly to create a safe, civil, and diverse community.
“As with any community, there are a small number of bad actors who may attempt to undermine the rules.”
