THIS week, ITV boss Kevin Lygo reaffirmed his confidence in Love Island and insisted the show is yet to reach its peak.

Ratings for this series were solid, but it hasn’t enjoyed quite the same buzz as in

previous years – maybe we’re all just jealous the islanders can go abroad without the stress of organising PCR tests?

Monday night’s big finale saw

Millie and Liam win the show’s £50,000 prize (a drop in the ocean compared to what they’ll earn as influencer­s), but the most pressing question is whether their relationsh­ip can last in the real world.

Millie passed the first test, choosing to share the money rather than keep it all for herself. And when host Laura Whitmore asked the couple if they saw themselves getting married, Liam appeared to propose and Millie said yes! I give it six months…
