‘DUKE SHOULD GO TO THE US’

And

- Patrick Hill Grant Hodgson

THE ex-boyfriend of the woman accusing Prince Andrew of sex abuse says the royal should go to America to face questions.

Anthony Figueroa, 39, claims Virginia Giuffre told him about her alleged abuse by the Duke of York 20 years ago.

He says she was scared by what Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell wanted her to do with the prince.

Anthony said Virginia – then 17 – was also repeatedly forced to have sex with Andrew’s evil pal Ghislaine, now facing life in jail for grooming girls, while Epstein watched.

Virginia is suing the prince for damages over claims he abused her. The FBI separately wants to interview Andrew as a witness over Epstein and his associates.

Now a restaurant worker in Atlanta, Georgia, Anthony said of the FBI’S failed attempts to question the prince: “Being royal makes no difference.

“Andrew has to face up to the case. I remember the first time Virginia mentioned him in 2001. She knew she’d be meeting him and said she knew what they wanted her to do and she didn’t want to do it. She said she was scared.

“I told her she had to do whatever it took to feel safe.”

Now his testimony could make him a key witness for her.

Virginia, 38, will face a New York court this week in the next stage of her civil action.

She claims Andrew had sex with her while under Epstein’s control in London, New York and on Epstein’s Caribbean island Little St James.

Andrew, 61, denies all allegations and there is no suggestion he knew of any pressure being put on Virginia.

Her lawyers are filing evidence demands, including medical proof of claims the royal made in a 2019

Newsnight interview when he said he had no recollection of ever meeting her.

He said her claim he was sweating as they danced in London could not be true as he was unable to sweat.
