Prescott pushes no party line

DAK PRESCOTT has warned his young teammates to stay out of trouble as Dallas bid for a first Super Bowl in 26 years.

The Cowboys have already qualified for the post-season but need to win their last two regularseason games to have any chance of securing a bye in the first round.

They host Arizona tonight, knowing they could easily meet them again this month in the playoffs – and Prescott, 28, wants players to avoid the distraction of festive celebrations.

The Dallas quarterback said: “I don’t think many guys are partying right now. We understand where we are as a team. That’s a great part of the team we have – the culture, the maturity, the leadership.

“I think it goes without saying but we may mention it anyway. Maybe a young guy or two will have the inkling to do that so we’ll have to make sure that everybody understands where we are in this season, what the important things are right now.

“This Covid thing has taken off so we’ve got to do the best that we can and limit ourselves getting in contact with it.”

Prescott was aged two the last time Dallas won the Super Bowl, but he is relishing the prospect of taking them back to another one and wants to keep the momentum going after last week’s 56-14 thrashing of Washington.

“What a great challenge it is to try to grow from last week’s game against a playoff opponent like the Arizona Cardinals,” he said.

“I’m excited for the match-up. This team has our respect.

“We’re looking forward to going out there and giving them our best shot.”
