LOST FOR WORDS OVER TALKING DOG

-

BUNNY the sheepadoodle can ‘chat’ to her owner by pressing buttons associated with words. I’m a sceptic, but when she hit “ouch” and “paw” and actually had a thorn in her paw, I couldn’t fail to be impressed.

The Secret Life Of Our Pets, on ITV on Tuesday, explored how our furry friends communicate. Surely we’ve

all wondered what goes on in their heads? Other impressive creatures included a parrot that at could add items to the shopping list by telling smart speaker

some chatty guinea palexa, pigs,

a rabbit helping an autistic child and a sniffer dog g that is doing his bit to help to save the last Northern

White Rhino on Earth.

Totally pawsome.

NOT even Alison Steadman could save BBC1’S latest thriller, Rules Of The Game, which arrived on Tuesday in one bingeable box set.

For those of you who haven’t wasted four hours of your life, I

won’t ruin it, but the workplace whodunnit was like a mash-up of a bad murder mystery (Aha! It was Miss Scarlett with the lead piping etc) and a poor man’s Succession.

Maxine Peake plays the cold, vaping bitchy boss of a sports

company that clearly sees itself as a Fortune 500 firm running the world – not a family-run business selling sports bras and leggings.

Steadman, pictured, is the company matriarch, giving off Bond Blofeld vibes as she manages her two lecherous sons.

There’s plenty of #Metoo commentary with important issues raised about workplace harassment, stalking and abuse. But with far too many subplots that went nowhere and characters I didn’t really care about, it was hard to invest.
