Sweet Deji is the villa gentleman
AS Love Island is rocked by “toxic masculinity” claims, Deji Adeniyi has stood out as the gentleman of the villa.
The sweet-natured account manager, 25, has won over viewers by sticking up for the girls. Pal Jay Sim, 26, said he has always been respectful of women.
They have been friends since childhood and Jay said: “He’s been true to himself and his calm, but funny, character has been shown on the show.”
Jay, who has supported Deji when he has had his heart broken, hopes his mate finds true love in the villa. He said: “Deji always seems to have an open mind about settling down and just has to be with the right person.” Deji is currently coupled up with new bombshell dancer

25. They shared a kiss soon after she arrived.
She said they would be “really good together” before they leant in for a snog.
“Are you upset that I didn’t kiss you properly last night,” said Lacey, before explaining:
“I did have a red lip on.” Deji replied:
“You can make up for it though, you can redeem yourself from last night.” So does Jay think she could be the one? He said: “The two looked like they got on well and had some banter which is important to Deji.”
Before going on the show, Deji said he decided to apply for Love Island as “my sex life is amazing but my love life is awful. I am the master of failed talking stages”.
Jay said he is glad the public are seeing the fun side of his friend. “My favourite moments are probably his random dancing highlights and facial expressions when it’s awkward around him,” he added.
“You know when something awkward happens and you have that friend that you shouldn’t look at because you’ll burst out laughing? That’s us.”
