-

SIMON WEAVER called Harrogate a “team of heroes” after their win over Yorkshire rivals Bradford.

Weaver’s side ended a run of eight games without a win thanks to Josh March, George Thomson and a Daniel Oyegoke own goal, in front of a record Wetherby Road crowd of 3,905.

Manager Weaver said: “It was a derby game and means a lot to us and the people of Harrogate, so I’m pleased that every one of the lads put in a committed display and they were a team of heroes.”

Crewe 1 Wimbledon 1

LEE BELL hailed Rio Adebisi after his impressive equaliser earned Crewe a point.

John-kymani Gordon gave AFC Wimbledon an early lead but Adebisi levelled soon after following a free-kick routine.

Bell said “It was a good freekick and a really good strike from Rio Adebisi, who has been not far off from exceptional this season.”

Dons boss Johnnie Jackson said: “We’ve got to try and win games as draws aren’t going to be enough, although this was a good result.”

Morecambe 2 Gillingham 3

STEPHEN CLEMENCE praised his Gillingham side’s “fantastic” character as they twice fought back from behind to snatch a vital win.

Morecambe went ahead through Jordan Slew and then Charlie Brown but Oli Hawkins and Timothee Dieng drew Gillingham level both times before Connor Mahoney netted the winner.

Morecambe manager Ged Brannan said: “It’s a tough result to swallow. We played some great football.”

Tranmere 1 Crawley 3

SCOTT LINDSEY feels there is “a real togetherness” at Crawley as the season enters the final stretch.

The Reds saw off Tranmere, who had pulled one back through Luke Norris.

Lindsey said: “I think we played really well as a team. There is a real togetherness and belief that we can win games at home or away.”

Tranmere boss Nigel Adkins said: “We should have had two penalties and those were key moments.”

Barrow 1 Newport 0

BARROW boss Pete Wild hailed his players’ professional performance after they beat Newport. The Bluebirds made it five unbeaten, courtesy of Cole Stockton’s 20th-minute goal, but remain in sixth place.

Wild said: “With the way they’ve dealt with the conditions, and the way they’ve kept Newport at bay, it was a really professional performance.”

Newport manager Graham Coughlan said: “I feel awful after that game. We probably got what we deserved out of it. The most disappointing part for me was the lack of hunger.”

Doncaster 2 Forest Green 0

GRANT MCCANN is eyeing an unlikely play-off push after Doncaster’s win over Forest Green Rovers.

A Luke Molyneux strike and Richard Keogh own goal sealed a third straight win to leave Rovers 10 points off the top seven.

Mccann said: “I put a lot of pressure on myself. We just want to carry on now.”

Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill added: “We didn’t perform anywhere like

I know we can.”

Notts County 1 Salford 2

STUART MAYNARD will not give up on the play-offs until Notts County are mathematically eliminated.

Conor Mcaleny’s brace left the Magpies eight points adrift with seven games to play as Dan Crowley’s equaliser proved in vain. Maynard said: “We keep going one game at a time, and while it is still mathematically there for us we have to keep fighting.”

Salford are looking to next season and assistant boss Alex Bruce said: “We want to win as many games as we can.”

Sutton 3 Accrington 1

STEVE MORISON hopes an overdue first home win of the season proves a ‘big day’ in Sutton’s relegation fight. Harry Smith, Omar Sowunmi and Nino Adommalaki all netted.

“It’s the first time we’ve scored that many at home and the first time we’ve won at home since I’ve been here,” said Morison

Jake Bickerstaff scored a late consolation but Stanley boss John Doolan said:

“We need to learn from it.”

Stockport 5 Milton Keynes 0

STOCKPORT gave their chances of securing automatic promotion a major boost with an emphatic win over close challengers MK Dons.

Callum Camps, Paddy Madden, Tanto Olaofe, Connor Lemonheigh-evans and Neill Byrne scored the goals for the Hatters to ensure just a second win in their last eight matches.

That win sees County move within two points of leaders Mansfield, while the Dons need to get the hammering out of their system as they are still right in the promotion mix.
