PISS FACE MEARS BITES BEAR’S EAR OFF

- By SIMON DEAN simon@ sundaysport. co. uk

A DRUNKEN Ray Mears bit Bear Grylls’ ear off after the adventure hunk drenched him in piss from a water bottle!

That was the scene that was played out before horrified guests at an outdoors- themed fancy dress party on Friday night.

Ray Mears fan Gareth Ford, who attended the bash in Crewe, Cheshire, dressed as his idol, got into a “heated debate” with Bear Grylls devotee Andrew Baxter.

Baxter, 35, who was dressed head to toe in Bear Grylls- branded gear, started the spat by claiming that Mears was “boring”.

Ford hit back, calling Chief Scout Grylls a “phoney showman” and a “publicity- seeking wanker”.

The row escalated when Baxter – who was carrying a piss- filled water bottle as a nod to Bear’s urine- drinking survival tip – threw the contents face.

A witness – who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals – told Sunday Sport: “Up to that point we’d all been laughing. into

“It was like watching the real- life Bear Grylls and Ray Mears having a row.

“But when the piss started flying, things turned ugly. Gareth got Andy in a headlock and bit off his f** king ear!

“There was blood WEE SPOT OF BOTHER: ‘ Mears’ Gareth ( above) took lump out of ‘ Grylls’ Andy everywhere and Andy was screaming in agony.

“We called for an ambulance and the cops came for Gareth. That’s the last outdoorsthemed party we’re having.

“Next time we’ll do something safer, like jihadis and rabbis, maybe.”

Ford has been charged with assault and GBH and will appear in court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the real Ray Mears has bashed the survival tactics of his rival Bear Grylls as the rivalry between the pair rumbles on.

Survivalist Mears, 52, revealed he prefers teaching people “how to do things properly” than watching the Bear Grylls show, which he labelled as “entertainment”.

In an interview with The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival, Mears said that his rival is doing something completely different from him and that is what he does is pure “showmanship”.
