BRITAIN BRACED FOR ICY BLASTS OF MURDERSLEET!

- By SIMON DEAN simon@ sundaysport. co. uk

IF you thought last week’s icy blasts and blizzards were bad, you ain’t seen NOTHING yet!

Because forecasters have warned that Britain is about to get its first dose of a terrifying new meteorological condition…

MURDERSLEET!

Plummet

The freakish phenomenon occurs when slushy sleet falling from clouds binds together millions of particles of water, causing raindrops the size of DUCK EGGS to plummet from the sky.

Falling from hundreds of feet, the terrifying balls of water hit the ground at more than 120mph – with the force of a large dog.

Although scientists have no idea why, murdersleet is common in Canada, where it was first recorded in 1997.

Dozens of people there have been killed by murdersleet, as it crashed into their cars.

Some vehicles have been completely CRUSHED under the weight of a murdersleet cloudburst.

Terry Bryce told Sunday Sport: “Until now, we thought murdersleet was a phenomenon confined to north eastern Canada.

“But we are seeing signs that conditions over the UK are now ripe for a burst of murdersleet on these shores.

“Imagine driving through the heaviest rain you have ever experienced – with every drop of rain weighing the same as a bag of sugar!

“That’s murdersleet – and it is literally impossible to control a vehicle in a downpour of this stuff.

Warning

“If you are caught outdoors, forget it. You will be knocked to your feet by the first few drops.

“Some forecasters are warning about so- called ‘ thundersnow’. Well, compared to murdersleet, thundersnow is a walk in the park on a sunny spring day.”
