BECKHAM’S LOVE LETTER TO QUEEN

- By ARCHIE SNAITH news@ sundaysport. co. uk

DAVID Beckham wrote a grovelling poem to the Queen and sent her a “lovely picture” as part of his desperate campaign to get a knighthood.

Shit hit the fan last week when it emerged Becks, 41, had called the honours committee – which recommends people for knighthoods – “a bunch of c** ts”.

The abuse emerged in a batch of leaked emails between the former England football captain and his long- term agent Simon Oliveira.

Desperate

It’s believed Beckham was turned down for a knighthood after tax authorities raised a “red flag” during vetting by the honours committee.

Although Becks has not broken any laws, tax bosses believed he could have been rather too keen on reducing his tax liability.

Becks has been criticised for sucking up to the Queen in a bid to secure the title ‘ Sir’, even posting grovelling comments on social media sites.

But today, his carefully- crafted image could be destroyed forever.

Sunday Sport has been handed a crayon- written poem to the Queen by Becks as part of his drive to get Her Majesty to touch her sword on his shoulder.

Accompanying the poem – leaked by a senior member of Royal staff – is a picture drawn by the football legend, again in crayon, showing him and the Queen holding hands.

The Royal flunkey who handed us the secret papers said: “They’re 100% genuine. He sent them last year.” The poem reads: “dear loverly qeen, you smell so nice and clean, My name is david beckam, And I’m scared you fink I’m mean, I do lots of fings wiff hungry kids, The ones wiff sticky out tummies, I’m even nice to the orphanny ones who don’t have any mummies love david” Last night, literary critic Archie Sykes Bruce called the verse: “Innocent and childlike.”
