NHS on terror frontline
Backstabbing to the future TUESDAY
– BBC2,
DOCU- DRAMA telling the story of the Conservative Party’s 2016 leadership campaign, from the day David Cameron resigned to the day Theresa May became Prime Minister.
Based on exhaustive research and first- person testimonies, this dramatised narrative goes beyond the headlines to lay bare the politicking and positioning, back- stabbings, betrayals and huge blunders of this truly extraordinary political time.
Of course, the way things are going, this could be properly out of date by the time you read this.
– BBC2, 9pm
THE documentary charting the day- to- day realities faced by workers in the NHS returns, picking up with staff at St Mary’s Hospital in London on March 22nd, the day of the Westminster terror attack.
Arrangements are made to transfer some of the hospital’s critically ill patients to a sister site at Charring Cross, giving the A& E team more scope to help the victims.
Stephen needs immediate surgery to save his leg, and his wife Cara shares her thoughts on the helplessness felt by the families of those most gravely injured as a result of these incidents.
Gripping and terrifying. DOCUMENTARY heading to both the shop floor and the head office of bargain retail chain Poundland, to discover how the struggling business has fared in the 12 months following the result of the UK EU Referendum.
Just weeks after Britain voted to leave the EU, Poundland was taken over by a new leadership team, which was tasked with turning the ailing company around.
Sounds about as interesting as a bit of old lino but, in fact, it’s rather interesting.
I love a bargain, me. SOME folk like watching foreign TV because it makes them feel intelligent, while others like the fact there’s loads of sex in imported shows.
But this is simply a good programme.
A successful lawyer becomes an advisor to a powerful politician, while leading a double life as a serial killer.
He uses his position to infiltrate the police task force assigned to track him down, just as an FBI agent is brought in from the U. S. to help crack the case.
