QUEEN of Pop Madonna has blocked the “creepy” sale of her highly- personal items – including a hairbrush containing strands of hair and her USED PANTIES!
The singer, 59, is suing an auction house in order to stop the sale of previous possessions – which also include a love letter to former boyfriend, the late rapper Tupac Shakur.
In court papers, the Material Girl star said: “My DNA could be extracted from a piece of my hair. It’s outrageous and grossly offensive that my DNA could be auctioned for sale to the public.”
She said Gotta Have It! Collectibles in New York should not be allowed to sell off the 22 items at a rock themed auction later this month.
Naked
The sale includes a pair of panties she gave to ex Peter Shue in the 1990s.
She said: “It never occured to me he would auction them off.”
Other items on the auction block include personal photographs, unreleased recordings and unsent, “intimate love letters” involving other past boyfriends.
“The fact that I have attained celeb status as a result of success in my career does not obviate my right to maintain my privacy, including with regard to highly personal items,” she says in the suit.
Madonna concedes in the deposition that she got naked for her Sex book – but the panties and hairbrush are “too intimate and personal” to be sold.
“Well, it is my hair,” she tells Lutz’s lawyer, Judd Grossman.
“It’s creepy,” she said, according to a transcript of the deposition, done last month.
“If I publish a book, that is my offering to the world, I acknowledge that,” she says.
“I’m giving that piece of art to the world.
“There’s a difference between that, what I offer to the world as an artist, and what people write to me personally and privately as a human being.
“There’s nothing in Sex that had anything to do with my private life.”
