A source at Low Newton jail in Durham told Sunday Sport: “Rose loved the old version of Bake Off because she quite fancied Sue Perkins.

“When she heard that the token lesbian in the new version was going to be Sandi Toskvig, she was cross. When she saw the show, she was bloody incandescent.

“When the second load of adverts came on, Rose just exploded. She jumped out of her chair, FURY: Rose wasn’t happy with Sandi Toskvig spilling her cocoa and biscuits, and started screaming at the screen.

“She said, ‘ Adverts, adverts – more ruddy adverts, and started lobbing stuff about. In the end they had to physically restrain her.

“I’ve never seen Rose NO BERRIES: The new Bake Off cast so angry, and I’ve seen her angry a lot.”

Britain was stunned last year when it was announced that Bake Off was moving from BBC1 to C4 and Rose is not the only celebrity upset at the new format.

Rap bad boy Snoop Dogg said that Bake Off without Mary Berry was like “Baywatch without Pammie”.
