Church Miss who had sex with lad will avoid prison

A TEACHER who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17- year- old boy has dodged jail .

Megan Jo Johnson, 40, was reported to authorities in March for having sex with a lad she knew, according to a criminal complaint.

Johnson was a kindergarten teacher at Prairie Lutheran Church School and met the boy when he came seeking help for personal matters.

Johnson, of Gaylord, Minnesota, pleaded guilty to having sex with the teen in many locations including her classroom, according to court documents.

She will be sentenced in January.

A plea deal proposes no jail time and up to three years probation with requirements that include she gets counselling and not have any contact with the teen.

Johnson’s lawyer said she wasn’t in a position of authority over the boy, which is necessary for a felony charge when a victim is at least 16 years old and wasn’t forced.
