Operatives from MI5 and MI6 penned the brief to stop Brits working in Russia and other unfriendly states falling foul of so- called “honeytrap” operations staged by foreign spooks. The memo was compiled after President Donald Trump was accused after the US election campaign of paying prostitutes to urinate on a Moscow hotel bed once slept in by Barack Obama. On BBC’s Newsnight last week Sir Richard Dearlove, the former boss of MI6, said the ‘ dirty dossier’ accusing President Trump of asking prostitutes to urinate “probably has some credibility”.
