Gladys convinced Gallagher pair were behind vile raid
FORMER dinner lady Gladys Tomlinson will never forget the day in 1989 she returned home from work to find BURGLARS had raided her tidy house in Manchester’s Burnage area.
And something else was etched into her memory – the STENCH of the raiders’ calling card.
Gladys, now 72, shuddered: “The dirty little bastards had done a shit in the bath.
“Stealing my nick- knacks and the video was one thing – but shitting in the bath? That was beyond the pale.”
Gladys and her late husband Colin managed to rebuild their lives and replaced most of the stolen items.
Culprits
But neither of them was able to use the bath again and swapped the entire bathroom suite when B& Q had a sale three months after the burglary.
The culprits were never caught but now Gladys reckons she knows who was responsible – Oasis bad boys Noel and Liam Gallagher.
She explained: “I was watching Good Morning Britain and Richard Madeley was standing in for the usual host, Piers Morgan.
“Richard said he thought those dreadful Gallagher brothers may have burgled HIS house back in the day. It got me thinking.”
During the slot in question, Madeley told viewers: “Liam and his brother used to live quite close to us when we lived in Manchester and they admitted in the early stages of their career they did a bit of burglary – and we think they did our house.
“I spoke to them about it – it was many years ago and they’ve probably forgotten about it now – and they said, ‘ Yeah I think we did that one… went in through the window, yeah’.”
Gladys said: “That’s when it struck me. We lived a couple of streets from that pair of little buggers. Pound to a penny it was one of them that shat in the old bath.

“Looking back, if I’d have known it was an Oasis shit, I could have kept it. It would probably fetch a fortune on eBay right now.
“But our Colin – God rest his soul – fished it out of the bath with the net he used for his aquarium and flushed it down the bog.”
Noel once joked to Melody Maker: “We have burgled houses and nicked car stereos, and we like girls and swear and take the piss.”
Last night a source close to the Gallaghers said the brothers had “no recollection” of shitting in anybody’s bath.
