ROSEANNE SLEEP PILL MADE ME CALL KITTEN A ‘C*NT’

- By SIMON DEAN simon@ sundaysport. co. uk

A MAN who called a child’s kitten a “c* nt” in a busy High Street last week apologised to the youngster.

And he said the sleeping pill which turned Yank comedienne Roseanne Barr into a racist was to blame.

Barry Harrop, 45, was “far into drink” when he screamed a string of four- letter words at the baby cat in Biddulph, Staffs.

Magistrates were told the child had taken the kitten – which cannot be named for legal reasons – into town on a shopping trip with her mother during the half term holiday.

Witnesses say Harrop lurched towards the mog “with hatred in his eyes” and let rip.

Onlookers rushed to intervene as the child sobbed.

Harrop was arrested on a public order offence which he later admitted in court.

Solicitor Johnson Prendergast explained: “My client, who is unused to wine, had recently bought some cut- price cider which, to his regret, he consumed that morning.

“That, along with a medication he is taking for a sleep disorder appears to have caused his outlandish behaviour which, the court can be assured, is completely out of character.

“May the court also note that in the United States this week, the comedienne and actress Ms Roseanne Barr, has also run into difficulties thanks to an adverse reaction to a sleeping draught.”

Roseanne Barr last week blamed a tweet in which she compared an African American woman to an ape while under the influence of sleeping pills.
