NEXT DOOR’S DOGS ATE MY ARM!

-

AMPUTEE: Ronnie is lucky to be alive A MAN almost mauled to death by his neighbour’s dogs said: “I was looking at my arm and a big piece of meat was missing.”

Ronnie Bell had to have what remained of his mangled limb amputated – to save his life – after the mauling in Dallas, Texas.

But, astonishingly, even though Ronnie almost died in the ferocious attack, the dogs’ owner will NOT face charges.

Ronnie, 56, was walking home from local shops in southwest Dallas on June 16 when three of his neighbour’s dogs lunged at him.

He said one of the dogs bit his arm and tried to pull him to the ground.

“The dog was just ripping at my flesh, trying to pull me on the ground,” he shuddered.

Ronnie said he grabbed a pocket knife he was carrying and started stabbing one of dog’s in the back of the head.

“I was looking at my arm and all I was seeing was a big piece of meat missing,” he added.

A police officer was one of the first people on the scene after the attack and applied pressure to Ronnie’s arm until help arrived.

Ronnie credits the cop’s quick thinking for saving his life before he was rushed to hospital and put SAVAGE: Dogs were destroyed in a medically- induced coma and then on life support.

Doctors eventually decided the only way to save his life was to remove his arm.

Dallas Animal Services said the dogs have been destroyed and Dallas City Council have since strengthened its dangerous dog bylaws. However, Ronnie’s case won’t fall under the new ordinance so the neighbour won’t face charges.
