SNOWFLAKES DEMAND BAN ON NHS HERO CLAPPING

Applause could ‘trigger’ anxiety, say activists

-

IT’S become a symbol of hope and pride, of gratitude and of resilience.

Each Thursday at 8pm, millions of people open their doors and their windows to applaud the superhuman self- sacrifice of NHS heroes battling coronavirus.

Even as the death toll spirals upwards, the resolve of the British people to thank frontline medical staff has stiffened and grown.

But now the so- called Clap for Carers could be BANNED – because

HEAR WE GO: Brits applaud frontline heroes in the streets of jelly- spined Millennials who say the applause triggers anxiety disorders.

Meadow Sugarsweet, chair of the Diversity Exchange Rainbow Fellowship tromboned: “Loud noises, including whooping and traditional applause, can pose an issue for students with disabilities such as anxiety issues.

“The problem has been exacerbated by some people joining in the so- called Clap for Carers by banging

WORRIES: Meadow says some people are becoming anxious at the sound of clapping saucepans or other metallic items. We’ve had reports that some people – already impacted by the ongoing Not- From- China- In- Any- Way Virus – are becoming very anxious indeed.

“Some have reported tics, tinnitus and even bedwetting.”

Meadow has suggested that the “audible applause incidents” should be replaced by “jazz hands” and participants miming the words “we wholly appreciate the contribution made by the diverse elements of the Naitonal Health Service family”.

An earlier suggestion that the words “we salute the NHS” be mimed was voted down by the Diversity Exchange Rainbow Fellowship as “too militaristic”.

The suggestion has not gone down well in all quarters.

Common sense campaigner Terry Furey stormed: “After hearing this nonsense, I will be clapping even harder on Thursday.

“And I will scream ‘ THINK OF THE NURSES, THINK OF THE NURSES!’ at the top of my lungs.

“And if these snowflakes don’t like it, well, they can lump it.”
