ELVIS Presley, the King of rock and roll, has died from coronavirus complications, aged 85.

Elvis passed away quietly in an isolation unit at the Journey’s End Senior Living complex, just five miles from his beloved Gracelands mansion near Memphis, Tennessee.

The King moved to the home in 2006 following many years living in hiding after he had sensationally faked his own death on August 16, 1977.

The home’s manager, Buck Smithson, said last night: “For 14 years, we’ve been home to the biggest secret in the world.

“Now that he’s gone, we’re free to say that Elvis Presley lived out his final years here, at Journey’s End Senior Living complex.

“As a kind of tribute to the King, we’ve produced some commemorative ‘ Elvis Lives Here’ coffee mugs and T- shirts which are available via mail order.

“And if anyone would like to visit, to pay tribute to Elvis and to see his room, we are offering an exclusive ‘ Elvis Experience’ at just $ 59.99 – booking is available on our website.

“Elvis was a gentleman, a real Southern gentleman, and everyone here will miss him.

“He insisted that everyone called him Aaron – his second name – because, as he said to

me many, many times, is dead, uh- huh!’

“We done respected his wishes, right to the very end.”

Buck also revealed that Elvis was planning one last show in Vegas when he fell ill.

He said: “Kenny Rogers was one of the few people in the industry who knew for sure that Elvis was still alive, and he would come to visit.

“The pair would sit up late, talking about the old days, and they got it into their heads they’d do a show together, one last outing. In Vegas, naturally.

“But then Kenny passed away and soon after that Elvis developed a cough. He clung on for a few weeks but it was clear he’d done caught COVID- 19.

“His last words to me were, ‘ Buck… uurgh!’ and then he was gone.”

In his later years, Elvis developed an interest in politics

and was a keen supporter of President Trump.

Buck recalled: “I’d catch him chuckling to himself, ‘ Grab ’ em by the pussy… uh- huh!’

“I even got a photo of him wearing a ‘ Make America Great Again’ hat as he rode his mobility scooter.

“I treasure that photo and, incidentally, it’s available on a £ 29.99 commemorative poster which comes with a certificate of authenticity.”

Last night crowds were gathering outside Journey’s End, many holding candles and some in tears.

Elvis fan Clarice Winstanley from Mobile, Alabama, said: “I done knew that Elvis ain’t died back in 1977.

“Now he’s really gone and my heart’s done broken.”
