Don’t tell him, Abdul!

BBC GO EVEN MORE WOKE AS THEY MAKE OLD DAD’S ARMY EPISODES ‘INCLUSIVE’

IS nothing sacred?

A secret BBC committee tasked with tackling the “problematic” content in the Corporation’s archive has recommended making some of their classic series more “diverse”.

And first in their sights is the much- loved comedy Dad’s Army, which they want to give a diversity makeover.

The show, which ran from 1968 to 1977, gently mocked Britain’s Home Guard during WWII with their robust views, including references to fuzzywuzzies unlikely to be deemed acceptable to modern viewers.

One famous scene sees soppy Private Pike asked to give his name by a German officer, to which Captain Mainwaring orders, “Don’t tell him, Pike!”

An old BBC hand, appalled at the idea, spoke out to Sunday Sport under condition of strict anonymity.

He told us: “I’ve seen some bad shit going on at the BBC in recent months – sinister, Stalinist shit with history being rewritten and this new ‘ woke’ garbage’ being injected in everywhere.

“But Dad’s Army is a step too far. If they start buggering about with that, then nothing is safe.

“They’ll be rewriting Three Up, Two Down next. Bastards!”

Minorities

In the secret committee’s plans, the Walmington- on- Sea Home Guard platoon would have its “ethnic balance adjusted” with Captain Mainwaring, Corporal Jones and Privates Godfrey, Pike and Walker converted into characters from minorities using space- age technology.

CGI magic would also be used to inject “gender identity issues” into Sergeant Wilson’s character.

The only main character to escape alteration is the Scottish Private Frazer.

Plans to change vicar, The Reverend Timothy Farthing, into a Muslim imam are as yet unconfirmed.

Our source said: “Some of what the BBC has done is understandable. I mean, when the Major says ‘ n***** s’ in Fawlty Towers, of course you can’t say that these days.

“But Dad’s Army? The world has gone mad.”

It’s hoped that new BBC Director- General Tim Davie may halt to the vandalism of popular comedy.

The incoming DG already reversed a decision to ban the lyrics of Rule Britannia! and Land of Hope and Glory being sung at Last Night of the Proms.
