AUBA: I’LL GET MY SHOOTING BOOTS ON

- By ANDY MILLOM

PIERRE- EMERICK Aubameyang says he’ll get his scoring boots on again soon.

The Arsenal hitman has struggled to hit a cow’s backside with a banjo this season. He has gone five league games without a goal and the Gunners have managed just eight strikes in the opening six matches.

Aubameyang insists he’s not worries and he’ll be hitting the target again quickly. He said: “As a team we are not finding scoring goals easy at the moment.

“This happens in teams — I haven’t scored for a few games in the league, either. But we’re an experienced team, with experienced attacking players and we know we will turn this around. I’m not worried about that.”

Alexandre Lacazette has been misfiring too and boss Mikel Arteta admits it’s a worry to struggle for goals.

But he insists it’s the whole team that has to pull together rather than just the forwards.

The Spaniard said: “Well from everybody when we play at home and we are not able to score a goal, I’m concerned.

“It’s something that we have to improve in the final third, the solutions that we have to give them.

“To attack better, to be more continuous, to be able to sustain our attacks for longer periods, and hold the ball in the box more, we’ve been working on that so hopefully we can improve it.

“Hopefully we will give much more to our strikers so that they can finish games off.”

Some pundits have also expressed fears that the Arsenal squad will buckle under the pressure of playing in the

Europa League while

battling for a place back in the top four at home.

Arteta insists he will take every competition seriously rather than just focusing on the Premier League.

He said: “We are going to try for sure to do that. At the moment we have the squad to try to achieve that.

“What is going to happen in six weeks or six months, we don’t know.

“And how the players are going to assimilate all the minutes in their legs, and how they are going to respond to that, is a big question mark for all the clubs. But at the start of the season, this is our aim.”
