Inter dream turns sour for Eriksen

-

FORMER Tottenham star Christian Eriksen says his days are numbered at Inter Milan.

The Dane was a mainstay at Spurs for more than seven years before walking out to join the Italians last year.

He pretty much burned his bridges with the Londoners as he refused to sign a new contract and went to the San Siro for a cut- price £ 17m.

Now it looks like that was a bad move by the 28- year- old who has fallen out with boss Antonio Conte. It has emerged that Tottenham could have brought him back in the summer but swerved the deal with Jose Mourinho not keen.

He’s struggling for game time in Serie A and is expecting to move.

He said: “This isn’t what I dreamed of.

“All players want to play as much as possible, but the coach decides who gets to go on the pitch.

“It is a strange situation, as the fans want to see me playing more and so would I, but the coach has different ideas and as a player I have to respect that.

“I am concentrating on my football, then when the transfer window opens we will see if something will happen or not.”

Manchester United were linked with Eriksen several times but have since brought in Bruno Fernandes and are unlikely to be interested in a move.

Meanwhile, one current Spurs player has been promised more game time by the Special One.

He brought in Brazil

forward Carlos Vinicius in the last transfer window on loan from Benfica but has hardly played him.

He has made just four appearances but Mourinho has been impressed with the new boy.

He said: “We have two strikers, we don’t have four or five, and he is one of the two.

“The other is one of the best strikers in the world and that results in a difficult situation for Vinicius, but you can play both together, there are games in which I will do it.

“Rotation is important because Harry cannot play all games.

“Vinicius will play many times, he will have the opportunity to prove his worth in the Premier League and convince Tottenham to buy him.

“If he doesn’t, he will return to Benfica a lot more experienced and a lot more complete.”
